With over 16 years of experience in the medical field, AnnLamar Johnson is the visionary behind the innovative natural skincare line AQUICKI. After achieving a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry, she proceeded to accomplish a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Maryville University in St. Louis Missouri. Born and raised in North Carolina, her passion as a youth to help people evolved into her desire to pursue a medical career. After actively serving the community as a healthcare provider in various capacities including hospital-based care, emergency medicine and dentistry both domestic and abroad, an injury and illness prevented her from continuing that passion. This unexpected shift became the birthplace of her skincare line AQUICKI (A-quick-KEY).
While living abroad in Jamaica, West Indies, Ann learned about various plants, herbs and oils that were of significant benefit to the health of the community. She would eventually incorporate these very elements in the AQUICKI skin care ingredients. The meaning of the brand name was established as pillars to remind consumers that nature holds the key to achieving overall health and wellness and beautification.
Consumers are actively encouraged to prioritize their health and skincare to maintain top-tier confidence, wellness and radiance. The empowering spirit of the brand emerged from Ann’s own faith journey which propelled her through life-altering experiences. Such experiences include a car accident, anaphylaxis which damaged her skin beyond recognition and almost claimed her life and living with a one of the many illnesses categorized as an “invisible illness,” Fibromyalgia.
It is Ann’s sincere hope and prayer that the AQUICKI brand will help to shine a light on various “invisible illnesses” that people are quietly suffering with and contribute to the health, wellness, confidence and beautification of others both inside and out. Her passion for people and empowerment efforts will also extend to include an AQUICKI clothing line, book collaboration with the Glambitious Brand, a solo-authored Christian Devotional and 365-Day Calendar of Encouraging Affirmations.
