What inspired you to create The Blueprint Media Company, and how has its mission evolved?
I created The Blueprint Media Company because I wanted to give entrepreneurs, small businesses and creatives a platform where their voices could be amplified. So many people are doing incredible work but don’t always have access to visibility. Over the past six and a half years, the mission has evolved from simply offering marketing and promotion to creating full content spaces, live events and media opportunities that build real connections and help businesses grow long-term.
What strategies have you found most effective in helping entrepreneurs and creatives gain exposure and increase revenue?
Consistency and storytelling have been the most effective. Sharing your story in a way that connects with people builds trust and loyalty, which translates into support and sales. I also encourage entrepreneurs to diversify how they show up. Whether through podcasts, social media, live interviews, and in-person events, I encourage them to get themselves out there. Giving people multiple entry points to discover your brand helps maximize exposure and ultimately drives revenue.
What sets you apart in today’s media landscape, and what kind of guests do you seek to feature?
What sets me apart is authenticity and community focus. I’m not just looking for “trending” names that have already made a name for themselves. I highlight the everyday business owners, artists, creatives and leaders who are truly impacting their communities they serve. My platforms provide a balance of professional visibility and personal relatability. Guests I feature are those who inspire, educate and empower others, whether they’re established leaders or emerging voices.
What’s one common mistake small businesses make with marketing or PR, and how can they correct it?
One of the biggest mistakes is inconsistency. A lot of businesses start strong with their marketing but fall off when they don’t see instant results. The correction is to create a sustainable strategy and stick with it. Consistency builds credibility. Also, many overlook PR entirely, when in reality, even small features, podcast interviews or local press can significantly boost visibility.
Looking ahead, what exciting plans or goals do you have to further impact the business community?
I’m focused on expanding The MzMetchi Show into television so that I can reach a wider audience and continue showcasing entrepreneurs and creatives on a larger scale. I’m also growing my signature event, The Linked & Lit Brunch, into a biannual experience that fosters powerful networking and collaborations. Beyond that, The Blueprint Media Company will continue to provide content, platforms and partnerships that keep entrepreneurs connected and thriving.
