How are you making Black History today?
I am making Black History today by empowering individuals to embrace their beauty and wellness confidently, transforming the narrative around beauty standards and promoting inclusivity in the beauty industry.
Can you share with us a significant figure from Black History who has personally inspired you and why?
A significant figure from Black History who has inspired me is Madam C.J. Walker. Her entrepreneurial spirit, resilience and dedication to creating products that catered to the needs of Black women resonate with my own journey in the beauty industry.
For those who are also striving to leave a legacy, what advice would you share?
I would encourage people to stay true to their vision, lead with excellence and a posture of gratitude, keep going even when challenges arise and always leave people with added value.
What is next for you in 2024?
Next, I will be hosting She Leads, She Heals, a virtual wellness summit and community for women entrepreneurs powered by So Jazzed Esthetics. Also, I’ll be releasing my new children’s book, “My Melanin Skin Glows”. Donations from this book will support young women to start their own beauty businesses. I’m continuing my mission to promote skin health and wellness through self-care for women and children of color and expanding my impact in empowering young women to start their own beauty businesses.
