What inspired you to become a CEO?
I had a passion for meeting problems with creative solutions. The bigger part of what I do is led by a deep passion for helping others; consequently whether I am writing a bio, creating graphics, pitching, or publishing, my main focus is centered around being a devoted help to those in need.
What has been your most exciting accomplishment to date?
I was chosen to create a book cover for Les Brown. I could remember listening to his motivational videos while I was piecing my life together and to have those moments translate into a working opportunity with him. It was pretty impactful. Of course I enjoyed many accomplishments throughout my career but working with the same voice who used to inspire me to get busy. Priceless
Any 2 pieces of advice you would share with emerging CEOs?
Be head over heels in love with what you are doing. When you are in love you are sold out to the cause and any form of distraction, discouragement, or false beliefs cannot shake something you're in love with. You have to treat your business like you're in love with it. Call it everyday, nurture it, and refuse to give up on it. Those are the virtues that will encourage you to move in tandem with purpose because you will feel like quitting. Also, keep your eyes on your side of the road. Just because someone else is doing what you do, it doesn't make them competition. Neither should it sway how you show up in business. Stay in your lane. DOUBLE DOWN AND FOCUS.
What is next for you in 2023?
I plan to use my voice. There is a message I want to share beyond the work and I can foresee that 2023 will be the year I speak up. Watch out for me.
