Meet Glam CEO: Erica Bryant!

Tell us about who you are and the business you operate:

I am Erica Bryant, a nationally recognized psychotherapist, business owner, and multihyphenate of several hats. My presence resonates powerfully within the Fortune 25 managed care organizations that employ me. As an innovator, I don’t merely influence; I set the benchmark in my field. My innovative contributions span critical domains, including foster care, health equity, maternal health, and member experience. I am a catalyst for change.

The accolades I’ve received are both humbling and affirming. Among them, I proudly rank among the Top 50 Entrepreneurs and Professionals in Texas.  My commitment to community service has earned me the highest recognition a Texas woman can receive for significant contributions and volunteerism. The White House has endorsed my work, and I’ve been bestowed with the esteemed Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.

Beyond my professional achievements, I’ve co-authored and been featured in several books and publications. My accomplishments extend to the world of pageantry, where I’ve earned an array of local, regional, state, national, and international titles. I value education and have earned several degrees.

My faith in God is the foundation of my life, and I am a committed member of the New Life Church of God in Christ.

How are your current efforts helping to propel women forward?

As I work with young women, my mission is to propel them forward. I teach them the intrinsic value of knowing their worth and emphasize the importance of such areas as literacy, etiquette, and education. My commitment extends beyond words—it is vital to me to prove through actions. I do this through actively nominating them for awards, encouraging them to explore their talents without fear, providing guidance as needing, offering support, and breathing life into their aspirations.

What advice would you share for maintaining mental wellness in a chaotic world?

In my role as a psychotherapist, I carry in my “tool kit” tools of transformation. These tools are life altering instruments used to empower individuals to navigate life’s stressors. Among these are coping skills, which are used to minimize and manage emotional distress, self-awareness of stress triggers and a commitment to self-care. However, knowledge of these principles and implementing them can be easier said than done. Despite our intellectual understanding of them, we don’t always respond as we should.

This is where extending grace to ourselves and others comes in. Beyond coping mechanisms, it is important to not lose sight of who we are. We must stay grounded in our morals, principles and beliefs, and refuse to compromise these. Always be your biggest champion and speak kindly to yourself. Don’t put yourself down or downplay your talents. Also, remember that what people share on social media is usually carefully curated. Don’t get caught up in the trap of getting caught up in chasing likes, clicks, and views. Cultivate a life centered around your belief system, and strive to live a peaceful life, surrounded by a positive environment, that aligns with the life you envision for yourself.

How do you stay motivated during uncertain seasons?

I stay motivated in uncertain seasons by not forgetting that God is Lord of All. There is a song by Donald Lawrence that talks about wanting to give up, but God being an anchor, a consistent way maker and reassurance that God is covering us. I have been through many tough seasons, and my belief in God has always brought me out. Many times, after the season is over, I have developed into a person who was better, stronger, and wiser than when I went in. As I look back over my life, I see that, and see that God has always come through with His promises.

Share your 2024 plans and how to connect with you online:

I love to stay active so I am always finding a new opportunity to engage in. Some of my current plans are to release a book with some talented ladies, and share this with others. I have also recently won a National Pageant Title. I have quite a few goals I am working toward and checking them off. I also wish to spend more quality time with my family.
